Weightloss Wednesday - www.toneitup.com

Hello My Dears!

Being in a happy & downright amazing relationship is great, hitting & getting stuck in the weight gain comfort zone is not great...

Consequently, I have been thinking about and researching weight loss options.  As I like guidance without having my flexibility taken away and really can't be doing with cutting out food groups as I do believe in a balanced approach to nutrition, I was quite excited when I came across Karena & Katrina from www.toneitup.com in a video by Style by Dani

I love the girls' approach of combining nutrition with exercise with a toning focus and the best thing for me is that their nutrition plan is designed with exercising in mind and consequently, fuelling your body properly for exercise.

Check out their YouTube Channel here:

They put a lot of exercise content up for free.  Currently, they are doing the #bikiniseries for 2014.

After watching quite a few of their videos (and trying out the exercises) and checking out the website, I decided to take the plunge and purchase their nutrition plan ($150 so slightly less in pounds) which was immediately delivered to my e-mail for download.

As nothing focuses the mind as parting with money, I have now stocked my fridge and kitchen cupboards accordingly and are very excited about my first Tone It Up week - because really I consider this a lifestyle change rather than a diet.

I have also signed up to the Tone It Up community on their website and can already say that it feels very supportive and motivational.

I'll let you know how I get on!

Have you tried the Tone It Up nutrition plan and/or the exercise?

Thanks so much for reading this post and have a great week!

May 2014 - My monthly favourites!

After having taken an accidental break from blogging I'm back with my monthly favourites for the month of May!

Skin79 - Super+ BB
This Asian BB cream has an SPF of 25 and it makes my skin look like airbrushed.  The great thing about it is that it makes me have a really great skin day and it doesn't look like I'm wearing Make Up. It goes on slightly greyish but within a couple of minutes adjust and creates a perfected, skin-like finish. People always comment on how great my skin looks when I'm wearing this!

MAC - Studio Sculpt in "NW15"
This gives great coverage without creating a masque-effect on my skin. I love how it not only creates a flawless base and wears well on my skin but also makes me look more alive!

MAC - Powder Blush in "Melba - matte"
This is a great matte shade which lends a natural flush to my complexion.  It works great for creating a neutral look and works well with peach or nude-coloured lip products.

NYX - Blush in "Taupe - matte"
This is a great contour shade for pale skin!

Essence - 3D Eyeshadow in "08 Irresistible Vanilla Latte"

This neat little duo is a great, super affordable handbag and travel staple. It's super shimmery (so if you love matte eyeshadows this ain't for you) and the lighter shade works equally well as an eyelid colour and a browbone highlighter, I use the darker shade to create definition in the crease.
(These shades are very soft, so there is a bit of fall out but once on they look really beautiful)

Smashbox - Full Exposure Mascara
This mascara has been my favourite for months (see my review here) (and I have just purchased a new full-size tube).
It applies super easily and creates long, well-defined lashes without clumping.

Essence - I heart Extreme Volume Mascara
This is a great, budget-friendly alternative to my favourite Smashbox mascara! It creates length and volume at a very favourable price point!

Wet n Wild - Lipstick in "Fergie Daily"
This is a great neutral lip colour which works well with my light skin tone creating a nude lip look without making me look drained.

Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in "040 Rendezvous"
I love the minty smell of these and this was my bright spring/early summer lip of choice!

Too Faced - La Crème Color Drenched Lip Cream
in "Sweet Maple"
I love the super creamy and hydrating formula of this lipstick.  It lasts really well on me and I find the plumy-brown shade really flattering for a lighter complexion.

I'd love to know your May favourites!

Thanks so much for reading this post and have a great week!

Tag - How much is your face worth?

Hello my Dears!

Having cleared out and re-organised my make up storage last weekend (post on the finished result coming soon), I thought I'd do this tag.

If you have not seen this tag before - the idea is that you list the products you use for a certain look and add up the total to determine how much your face is worth.

I'm going to total up a neutral, daytime look.

Face

Fix & Perfect Primer
£6.99

Benefit
"Hello Flawless" Oxygen Wow Foundation
 in
 "Ivory (I'm pure for sure")
£26.50

£25.00

Soap & Glory
Peach Party - Multi-colour blush brick

Lips

Babylips in "Repair"
£2.99

Maybelline
Colorsense Nude Lipstick

"Coffee Craze"
£6.99

Total
£136.43

This is a bit of a shocker considering that approximately 75% of the products are drugstore/highstreet level!

(To be fair though I based this calculation on a full face and I could have gone and totally blown it out of the water if I'd used Urban Decay or The Balm eyeshadow...)

I'd love to see your "How much is face worth?" post so consider yourself tagged!

Thanks so much for reading this post and have a great day!

(Mini) Shoe Haul - Miss L-Fire

Hello my Dears

A couple of days ago I ordered a beautiful pair of shoes from  the Miss L-Fire's website (click here).

The delivery information said approx. 5 days for UK delivery so I was very pleasantly surprised when they arrived two days later - I love me a prompt service!

All their designs are vintage-inspired and the gorgeous packing reflects this!

Upon opening the shoe box I was greeted with a lovely, fabric shoe bag (showcasing the company logo) to protect my fabulous, new purchase during storage or when travelling.

And here is the first glimpse of the amazing design!

The pretty 1940s inspired design with the typical platform sole is made of soft, black suede.

I adore the ankle-strap design (no "shoe slipping of foot" incidents) and the knotted bow with gold detailing on the toe of the shoe.

And I just simply adore the intricate, gold, laser cut design adorning the heels and the platform sole - this makes these shoes really special to me!

They are really easy to wear, fit great and feel really comfy!

Design:
Pandora

Colour:
black

Price:
£59.99
(down from £104.99)

They are available here (and though the black colour is now sold out, they are still available in red, blue and orange).

Now I got these on sale but based on the quality and fit I would have been happy to pay the full price (and really bargains you would have been happy to pay full price for are the best ones).

I have bookmarked the Miss L-Fire website and I'm sure I'll be back!

Thanks so much for reading this post and have a great day!

Statement Shoes - .... and as black as the wood of the window-frame!

It may be spring but sometimes only a pair of the blackest shoes will suffice to express my style appropriately!

(I'll leave the pastels to somebody else for now.)

Neutral Palette Perfection - Mirror, Mirror on the Wall who is the fairest of them all?

I was always a single - not even duo- eyeshadow girl till I discovered blogs, blogging and the YouTube beauty community and now I have discovered my love for eyeshadow palette!

Wearable and flattering eyeshadow shades are a must for me and after loving my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette to bits, I have my sights firmly set on the other three beauties to add to my collection!
Neutral Palette Perfection

The shades wear beautifully and it is really easy to create an array of looks ranging from the super natural to the super dramatic!

I have admired this palette in various YouTube reviews for its sleek packaging and gorgeous collection of shades (damn you Sephora for suddenly making it easily accessible for us UK-based make up lovers!).

This collection of warm, rosy neutrals really appeals to me and I have heard great things about the quality of the Lorac eyeshadows. I wish UK department stores stocked this brand but one does live in hope!

The gothic packaging speaks to my inner Goth and those neutral shades look divine!
(It also appears to be a travel-friendly size).

What's your favourite neutral palette?

Thanks so much for reading this post and have a great day!
