ARTDECO Limited Edition "Jungle Fever" (Launch April 2014)

Hello my Dears

I am very excited about the April 2014 launch of ARTDECO's "Jungle Fever" Limited Edition.

To find out where  ARTDECO is available in Germany click HERE.

To find out whether ARTDECO is available in your country click HERE(and there is a very good chance it is :) ). In England ARTDECO is available via www.debenhams.com and in selected stores.

But now on to the "Jungle Fever" product palette!

The "Jungle Fever" Limted Edition takes its inspiration from the international Catwalks. It reflects the beauty of exotic flowers, intense colours and wild animals.

The focus of the "Jungle Fever" Limited Edition is to created gorgeous bronzed skin whose beauty is highlighted and complimented by a selection of both neutral eyeshadows and ones which provide a pop of colour.

The ArtCouture Eyeshadows (12, 20, 27, 32, 49, 61, 73, 83) are available are double the size of a permanent line ARTDECO eyeshadow (giving 50% additional product making these a great deal).

There are eight eyeshadow shades available - being a neutral girl the four lovely shimmery shades above ranging from a dark mid- tone brown, a more bronzy hued shade, an adorable rose-gold colour and  neutral silvery shades are going right up to the top of eyeshadows to check out to add to my collection.

The remaining four shades are great if you love to emphasise your eyes with shimmery colour - the stand-out shade for me is the bright turquoise (second from right).

There are two lipsticks (Nr. 362 & 366) in the "Jungle Fever" Limited Edition.

The first one comes in a vibrant, very on-trend orange colour which I think will work beautifully with bronzed skin.

The second lipstick is a lovely, rapsberry pink colour which I think will work particularly well complimenting a hint of turquoise eyehadow.

I am particularly looking forward to the launch of the Bronzing Glow Blusher "Queen of the Jungle" which combines coral, fuchsia and rose-gold tones to add a shimmering glow to cheekbones.

I think these shades will work beautifully swirled together adding shimmering colour or used individually - allowing for customising one's look by emphasising peach or rose-gold tones. (I am a particular fan of anything rose-gold really).

And the embossed finished of the bronzer makes it just nearly too pretty to use!

Shades available: Bronzing Fever (lighter) & Tan Fever
I also really like the matte Bronzing Powder Compact (with SPF15) which comes in two shades (lighter shade pictured).

This powder goes on transparently and offers buildable coverage.  It again not only comes in a pretty compact, is beautifully embossed but is also water-repellent.

To summarise: the absolute must-haves for me from this Limited Edition are the Bronzing Glow Blusher, the neutral and pinky-toned eyeshadows and the orange/coral lipstick!

Review: Smashbox - Full Exposure Mascara (in Jet Black)

*Warning: This review contains the most raving I have ever done about a mascara ever.*

Hello my Dears

Smashbox's Full Exposure Mascara in "Jet Black" has most recently been added to my mascara rotation thanks to the US Swap I did with Sandy Noemy.

I've got the trial size and all I can say this mascara completely blew me away!

This is how Smashbox sums up what can be achieved with their Full Exposure Mascara:

"Inspired by the on-set technique of layering a lengthening fiber mascara over a volumising formula, our new studio-tested mascara exposes your longest, fullest lashes. No clumps, no flakes. Just maximum-impact, scene-stealing lashes."

I absolutely adore their formula as it gives me amazing length and separation .

This mascara comes with a classic, big bristle brush which I love as this is my preferred style of brush.

One coat already gives me a beautiful defined look and if I hadn't read it in the product description it would never have occurred to me that the mascara contained fibers to lengthen lashes as I normally stay clear of such mascaras to avoid contact lense issues.

What I love most is that when I apply one or two coats of this mascara it lenthens and volumises my lashes in such a way that if I didn't know I was wearing mascara, I wouldn't be able to tell - it looks that natural.

On my lashes there is absolutely no clumping and it coats every single lash beautifully.

It just looks so natural (but gorgeously so!)!

Once applied and dried it lasted well on my lashes, the jet black colour didn't fade and I had no crumbling or flaking issues throughout the day.

In fact I love it so much that I will re-purchase it immediately once I have finished the trial size.

(This is saying something by the way as it retails at £18 at Boots and I normally try to stick to a drugstore/highstreet price point for mascaras as I phase them out every eight weeks or so to avoid contact lense issues.)

The only thing left to say is I have found my
"Holy Grail
higher end mascara!

(What I need to do now is to find a highstreet/drugstore equivalent/dupe)

Can you recommend a highstreet/drugstore dupe?

Thanks so much for reading this post and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

FOTD #3 - Visiting the In-Laws!

Hello my Dears!

I'm off to drop off the cat with my parents-in-law (and to have a bit of Chinese food) and so the aim was to create a look which looked polished in an understated way.

On my face today (in order of application):

1.

On me this primer works really well and makes my make up last without fading.  The texture is very smooth and easy to blend into the skin.

2.
Benefit "Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow" Foundation in "Pure for sure - Ivory" (SPF 25)

I apply this with my fingers for a natural, dewy finish. On my normal to dry skin this works great and stays in place well.  However, if your skin is oily you might find the finish to glowy and it might be more likely to slip.

3.
Maybelline Dream Touch Lumi Concealier in "Ivory"

I apply this in a triangle shape to my under-eye area and blend it out with my ring finger to brighten the area up.

4.

"Foxy" (1.) is applied all over my lid as the base colour.  I'm shading in the outer half of my lover lid with "Tease" (2.) and "Chopper" (3.) is blended out in my crease.  Lastly, I pop "Bootycall" (4.) as a highlight on my brow bone and in the tearduct area.

5.
This goes on to my waterline to make me look super awake (and it is fine with my contact lenses which is a must).

6.

I received this mascara in my US Swap with Sandy Noemy and I'm absolutely loving it - it goes on like a dream, doesn't clump and leaves me with long and natural looking lashes.

I'll definitively be picking up a full size one once I've finished up this one!

(If you want to have a look which other products I received in my swap click HERE.)

7.
Just a light dusting to set and smooth!

8.

This lovely blush gives a beautiful, natural (surprise, surprise) glow and I apply it lightly across the tops of my cheekbones - no additional highlighter necessary!

9.
Maybelline Color Whisper in 20 "Mocha Muse"

I'm finishing off my look with a slick of shiny lip colour which goes on super smooth for a subtly glossy finish.  I completely adore the Maybelline Color Whispers and am contemplating braving Ebay to add to my collection (Thanks Sandy Noemy!).

What's on your face today?

FOTD #2 - Saturday's Face

Hello my Dears!

Today's face is a super simple look I did getting ready at the gym after my Saturday (unholy-early-in-the-morning) spinning class.

On my face today (in order of application):

1.
Skin79 Super Blemish Balm (Whitening, Anti-Age & SPF25)

This goes on slightly grey but after about 10 minutes has adjusted to my skin colour and is absolutely undetectable. It leaves my perfected and is great for pale skin.

2.
Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadow in "We are the Champagnes"

I applied this all over the lid and emphasised my crease with it. This is great for a light-catching, iridescent with a hint of gold, one-shadow look!

3.
Essence I love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara in "black"

Two layers are all what's needed for super long, very black lashes. (In England this is available from selected Wilkinsons and it is an absolute steal!).

5.
I dabbed my new Maybelline Masterglaze Blushstick in "  Pinch Pink" across my cheekbones and used circular motions with my finger tips to blend it in.  I received this blush in my US Make Up swap with Sandy Noemy and it is very fast becoming a firm favourite.

(If you want to have a look which other products I received in my swap click HERE.)

4.
I just slicked on one layer of this super pretty and moisturising glossy lip balm for pretty peach coloured lips.  This Liquid Balm goes on super smooth and feels really comfortable on the lips.

What's on your face today?

Thanks so much for reading this post and have a great weekend!

Brand Crush #1 - Dior

Hello my Dears!

The brand I'm crushing on in this post is Dior!

The House of Dior was established in December 1946 and the launch of its first perfume Miss Dior in 1947 marked the founding of Christian Dior Parfums.

Money no object - this is what I would pick up from Dior's Make Up offerings!

For girls who don't like foundation! Makes your skin look impeccable (Must try)
Diorskin Airflash Sprayfoundation

The ultimate in flawless, airbrushed skin - this is top of my list to try out when I have finished my YSL Youth Liberator foundation.

Dior Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick in Fireworks
Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick in "Fireworks"

No girl should be without a fire-engine-red statement lipstick!

Dior Garden Party Rosy Tan
Dior 5 Couleurs in "Rosy Tan"

I have seen far more YouTube Videos than is good for me showcasing how beautiful these shadows combine to create gorgeous looks.
Dior creme de rose lip balm

Crème De Rose Lip Balm SPF 10

For a luxe twist to a no-make-up look this pretty, rosy lip balm would be just perfect.

Dior - Diorskin Shimmer Star in Amber Diamond #sephora
Diorskin Shimmerstar in "Amber Diamond"
The colours combined in this powder highlighter illuminate skin beautifully - both individually and swirled together.
